DID to participate in the financial education of young Senegalese

April 21, 2017

DID will take part in the Skills Training for Employment Program (STEP) in Senegal, under the direction of World Vision Canada and in partnership with Enablis Canada. Supported by the Government of Canada, this three-year project is intended to improve the economic prosperity of populations in the Kolda region by developing employment and entrepreneurial skills among young people, with a gender inclusive approach.

The specific role of DID under this project is to develop and disseminate financial education modules for the target group, namely unschooled young people aged 18 to 25 and graduates from professional training institutions, and to put these people in contact with microfinance institutions likely to fund their business projects. This mandate will be carried out by DID-Senegal.
