A study carried out by the Canadian Government confirms the positive impact of cooperatives on development

This study, carried out in three developing countries in collaboration with Développement international Desjardins (DID), SOCODEVI and the Canadian Co-operative Association (CCA), clearly highlights the impact of cooperatives on poverty reduction.  

 

Two DID partner institutions, both members of the Proxfin international network, participated in this study : the RCPB financial cooperative network (Reseau des caisses populaires du Burkina) and the VAPCF, the Vietnam Association of People’s Credit Funds.

Six-month professional internships in microfinance with DID

Twelve (12) graduate students, all aged between 19 and 30, who have been chosen to take part in six-month professional internships in microfinance in support of DID projects in Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda, Panama and Thailand.

 

These internships are organized by DID thanks to financial support from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), under the International Youth Internship Program, and from Fondation Desjardins.
